NatureMate turns the real world into your game board. Pick a quest. Step outside. Point your camera. Let AI verify what you found.
Point your camera at something real. AI checks locally.
Most apps try to keep you looking at the screen. NatureMate does the opposite. The screen gives you the mission β then you have to look away from it to complete it.
Not a fake checklist. A real bench, bicycle, dog, bottle β 43 detector-verified targets.
Walk to the park, street, market. The quest works best when you actually explore.
Capture one frame. YOLOS-tiny runs on-device (WASM). No continuous video upload.
XP pops, coins bump, streak grows. Found or skipped objects never repeat.
Browser-based computer vision. No server sees your camera. One tap = one inference. Everything else is just preview.
All labels are real COCO detector classes from Xenova/yolos-tiny. No tree, flower, sky invented.
Skip costs a life. Failed detection doesn't. Zero lives = Game Over.
found + skipped = removed from pool forever. genQuest() filters usedObjects.
Pop animation, coin bump, progress dots. Rewards only once per success.
You have 10 minutes. A handful of targets. One camera. How many can you find? Run is fully isolated β it doesn't touch your main found/skipped/lives.
That's the point.
Go outside βStay aware of your surroundings, keep camera use brief, and never let the game distract you from traffic, people, or hazards. The game encourages looking up, not down.
Stop scrolling. Pick a quest. Step outside.
